Where oh where does the time go....

On March 24th, Mark and I have officially been in Atlanta for 1 year. I can't believe how quickly the last year has flown by. It's been a year full of new experiences and changes for us.

In the last year: we've moved hundreds of miles away from our families and friends, sold our first home, made career changes, became auntie and uncle for the 4th & 5th time, we've done a little bit of traveling and taken advantage of "big city" entertainment experiences. You'll have to check out our photo albums on Facebook.

Since our last blog in October, Mark's parents (Bridget & Larry) and Grandma Hazel came to visit just before Thanksgiving. We took them to Stone Mountain to see the holiday decorations and few Christmas shows. I think they had a good visit and I am pretty sure Grandma Hazel became addicted to Phase 10 (card game) over the weekend! In November we also toook a trip to the Biltmore House in Asheville, NC. For those of you who don't know what the Bitlmore House is, it is the largest family home in the U.S. It has 250 rooms, 35 bedrooms, 43 bathrooms, 65 fireplaces...I could go on but check out www.biltmore.com for more info.

In December we spent a couple of weeks back in WI visiting family and friends. We enjoyed catching up with everyone and spending time with all 4 of our nieces and 1 nephew. We even got a chance to do some sledding with my family. I have to say that snow is probably the biggest thing we miss about winter. I really didn't think we would miss it but we do. At the end of February it snowed here in Atlanta. It wasn't a lot but it was enough to remind us of home.

I am still busy at work with a huge upgrade project. It's been a very long project with grueling hours at times. If you ask Mark he'll probably tell you that I've spent more time with my laptop than him lately. :( But the project is finally winding down and we only have a couple of months to go.

Mark had a rough year in the work department. He was working for an insurance company but got laid off in December. So after the first of the year, he decided to walk away from the insurance/financial industry after 8 years. In January, Mark started school at the National Personal Training Institute to become a certifited personal trainer and nutrional consultant. He will finish in July. For as long as I've known Mark, he's talked about wanting to make a big a career change and do something in the fitness area. It's been great to watch him sink his teeth into this change and really embrace a new lifestyle in the process.

Now as for the "big city" entertainment experiences I mentioned...on Friday (3/13) Mark and I were able go to go the ACC Tournaments at the Georgia Dome. We are both big March Madness and College Basketball fans. Now of course we would have loved to have tickets to the a Big 10 Tournament but we still had a great time. We were able to see Wake Forest play Maryland and Duke play Boston College. We had a great time and this is something we wouldn't have been able to experience back in Green Bay.

Plus, I have to admit that one of the perks was that my brother-in-law Tom was jealous. ;) He was giving me a hard time about Mark and I going to the game.

2 Tickets to an ACC Tournament...$144
Train Ride to the game...$4
Making your Brother-in-Law jealous...Priceless

Until next time...we hope this blog finds you and your families doing well.
